Rodolfo Oviedo Vega (San Salvador, 1984) is an artist, architect, and cultural manager whose trajectory unfolds across Latin America, Europe, and Asia. Based in Paris since 2003, he has developed a body of work deeply rooted in memory, travel, and universal symbolism. His paintings, sculptures, and installations have been presented in over twenty-six countries and are part of major public and private collections, including the Centre Pompidou-Metz, the Art Museum of the Americas in Washington D.C., the MARTE Museum, and the Lang Lang Foundation.
Shaped by the exploration of diverse territories and cultures, Oviedo Vega’s work engages in a continuous dialogue with history, structures of power, and the narratives that shape collective identity. His practice, at the intersection of art and architecture, is grounded in the transformation of materials, from recycled metals to natural pigments, and in a contemporary reading of sacred and archaeological forms.
Alongside his artistic practice, cultural engagement plays a central role in his career. He is President of the artist residency Jour et Nuit Culture in Paris, former Director of the International Cultural Center of Panama (2018–2022), and Vice-President of the Legacy Forum Foundation. Over the years, he has designed and supported hundreds of artistic programs, educational projects, and diplomatic cultural initiatives. In 2016, he received the French Senate Prize for his outstanding contribution to strengthening cultural ties between France and Latin America.
Through his work and his projects, Rodolfo Oviedo Vega builds bridges between worlds: between collective memory and contemporary creation, between the precision of architecture and the poetry of gesture, between ancient traditions and the challenges of the present.
